Carburetor Rebuild
The carburetor is a single barrel Rochester Monojet, which is the stock carb for the 250 c.i. Chevy engine.
As expected there was lots of crud in the carb and even after an over night soaking in Simple Green, there was still a significant amount stuck to the bottom of the float bowl as seen in the picture on the right. So I gave it another soaking over night again and finally I got it all cleaned out.
There was an electronic fast idle connected to the carb, but it wasn't hooked up because it was missing parts and they can't be found on the internet. Besides they really aren't necessary. I took it off and simply used a machine screw set against the same stop and it works just fine.
