1930 Hudson Super 8
The Trunk
Back in 1930, Hudson had a number of choices for trunks. The trunk that came with the car was not a match for the rack that was on the car. The trunk is about 6 inches deeper than the rack so I extended the rack to match and then painted the trunk flat black to match the car.

I added about 5 inches to the depth of the framework, using 1 1/4" angle iron.

Originally the trunk had a 3/4" plywood bottom that was completely rotted out.

I used a sheet of body steel and rivoted it to the bottom lip and then sealed around the edges with sikaflex 4200 adhesive sealant.
