Tie Rod End Boots

As you can see it was time to replace the tie-rod end boots.  Originally they were leather but they just aren't available anymore and there isn't any reproductions being manufactured in rubber or polyurethane.
So I decided to create something of my own design.

Not much room for a boot so I wanted to try something else.  Afterall the idea is to protect the joint from dirt etc.

First I made a rubber washer out of 1/8" thick rubber.  Then I followed it with one made of 1/2" thick felt. Since I didn't have a punch large enough for the outside diameter I just sort of made it 6 sided.
